Getting Busier

Seems like a while since I've mad an entry and it probably has been over a week since my last visit. AND IT"S BEEN BUSY!!!!

Firstly I'll get the social news out of the way.
Last weekend saw me travelling up to a small Cray fishing village named Port Denison that is located 60 km South of Geraldton for my Hobie 16 State Sailing Championships. To say it was a good weekend would be a vast understatement! 68 sailors descended on the small town and proceeded to slowly take over the beach, after all the bouts arrived and rigged 34 teams were ready to take on the elements. We were blessed with amazing weather and fair winds which made for a demanding and hard fought series that was raced over 10 heats and 2 days. I am pleased to report that I managed to secure 5th place overall!!!!!YAY!!

Needless to say the beer was flowing and the Uni work slowing.

So now it's time to get back on task.
For the past two weeks we have been shown how to build both a blog and a website. I found both the lectures and the workshops informative and easy to follow resulting in both my blog and website being activated and now worked on.
I was extremely apprehensive about this course at the start of the semester but have found that the fear of the unknown is much.much harder work than learning how to develop new skills. Although early days, my knowledge and confidence has come along in leaps and bounds. LMS has been handy and the technology toolbox on the EDN113 web page has been a font of easy to follow links and information. loads of Goggling and reading has also ensured that work continues.
Have also had a few interactions with other students on line by posting in the discussion page but most of my shared knowledge has come from personal interaction in the workshops. I have managed to find Jenni Parker on Drrigo and have a become a follower of her thread on Education resources and teaching information sites!

That'll do for the moment and as soon as I get some photos and the results page from the States I post a link here and on my site www.whataweb.zohosites.com

Good luck with everything!
Lance
